Geist Alpha is an investment firm built on a single observation: markets are the last to learn what people have already decided to believe. By the time a change of faith or habit shows up in a statistic, it is priced. We go earlier than the statistic, and we go in person.
What we trade on
- Belief
- What people are coming to believe, and what they will give up for it. A rite revived, a congregation forming in a building that stood empty, an old faith back under a new name. Belief sets demand years before any ledger does.
- Habit
- How a generation eats, marries, mourns, builds, and moves. Habit turns before the statistics do, and a people that changes its way of life changes its economy inside a decade.
- Place
- Cities becoming something else. The coasts, corridors, and crossings where the next century of trade is being laid down now, in plain sight and mostly unpriced.
How we work
We go. The numbers that matter have not been collected yet. They are found in the market, the mosque, the port, and the registry office, by staying longer than is comfortable and listening more than is polite.
We count. Every figure is sourced. Where sources disagree, we print the range rather than the flattering end of it. The distance between what has been signed and what has been announced is usually the whole trade.
We wait. Cultural and spiritual change compounds quietly, then reprices all at once. Positions are sized to be held for years, through the long stretch where nothing appears to be happening.
